Playing with Fire

I read an insightful opinion piece in the newspaper on Sunday - the writer proposed that a society obsessed with fire in movies, comedy, ads, etc would expect problems with people getting burned and not be surprised when high-level leaders become arsonists. However, we accept or ignore other potential dangers constant in popular culture today. We then wonder why we hear of political leaders, neighbors & family members falling into traps and scandals. He used this quote, which I thought was very fitting for the point he made. It is also a powerful truth that can be applied to many areas of life, including our everyday attitudes and priorities.
