Friday Sept 7 I was invited to dine at La Caille with the Celebrity Championship planning committee. I had toured the beautiful grounds, but never forked out the cash for dinner. The food was a little heavy for me, but I did enjoy the ambiance &

think it would be fun to hold an event there in the future. I left dinner a bit early to catch the Ryan Shupe & the Rubber Band concert at Thanksgiving Pointe. We arrived just on time to catch the band AND the guy at will call had a couple of extra tickets, so we got in free! Wahoo! Since we didn't have to pay for tickets, I splurged for a t-shirt & stickers to demonstrate our fan loyalty.
The next evening I got to hang out with some of my favorite friends. Courtney was in Utah for a few days & some of the old gang got together in Provo for an evening of fun, food, and stories. It is always great to spend time catching up!
CORN DOGS! On September 11 the Utah State Fair had law enforcement day. Since I happen to know someone with law enforcement connections, I thought it would be a great excuse to check out the scene & participate in a great fair tradition - eating corn dogs. Yum! I'm not a real hot dog fan...but put one on a stick, dip it in batter & fry it and it becomes a wonderful treat (and the subject of a classic Ryan Shupe song). The fair wasn't qui
te as magical as I remembered from my 4-H days, but it was still fun to see the entries, eat some fair food, and listen to Uncle Kracker & the Grand Funk Railroad from outside the stands. To make sure that we fit in, and to complete the experience, we drove to the fairgrounds in John's old truck, Mater.

The fair is always a blast! I somehow ended up there twice this year...it was soooo fun! Didn't get the corn dog, I'm more of a funnel cake gal!
